Lou's dual background in journalism and financial sales has equipped him with a distinctive edge for writing effective and persuasive copy for the business community as well as nonprofits. Before returning to the East Coast to establish his corporate writing business, Lou had most recently worked at a precious metals investment house in Newport Beach, California where he sold to clients who invest in gold, silver, platinum and palladium. In California, he also worked in sales at the mid-market investment banking firms, Geneva Corporation and RSM Equico Corporation.
Before coming to California, Lou had been a salesman at The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc., a Washington-DC-based publisher of legal, tax and business information. While in Washington, Lou had also worked as a freelance journalist, publishing many classical music concert reviews for The Washington Post as well as book reviews for Washington Jewish Week and other well known publications.
Lou was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Syracuse University in New York and Temple University in Philadelphia where he majored in English and Philosophy.
Lou is an incurable film aficionado, and currently writes for www.identitytheory.com, a web-based cultural magazine which lists his review of The Departed among its "notable reviews of 2006."
